NASHIK MUNICIPAL CORPORATION INVITES CITIZENS’ VIEWS ON SMART CITY
The civic administration has invited citizens and their representatives to present their views about how a smart city should be during a day-long seminar at Kalidas Kala Mandir on Friday.A senior official from the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) said taking into consideration the involvement of citizens in the Smart Cities Mission, municipal commissioner Praveen Gedam had called upon all stake holders to present their views on the smart city concept.
“A discussion will be held with the elected representatives at 11am and this will be followed by various institutions and organisations presenting their views at 3pm. People from all walks of life and organizations have been urged to partcipate in the discussion where they will be informed about the concept of smart city too,” said the official. Based on the views of the citizens, we will prepare a report and submit our plan to the government by November 30, the official added.
Nashik is among the cities selected for the mission by the state government. E-governance, waste management, water management, energy management, urban mobility and transport, education and skill development, health, area development, environment, social security and safety; and tourism, art, culture and environment and sports are among the criteria to be included in the project.
