CAPGEMINI SUPPORTS SIEMENS IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF AN IOT PLATFORM FOR NEXT GENERATION BUILDING ENERGY MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS
Capgemini, one of the foremost providers of consulting, technology and outsourcing services announced today that it will work with the Siemens Building Technologies Division, to implement a cloud based services platform featuring asset management and analytics technology.
The Siemens Building Technologies Division’s web-based Energy & Sustainability Navigator platform1 will continue to unlock the hidden potential of building data, provide transparency to support decision making processes that increase building operating efficiency, and drive cost savings for customers. Using this platform Siemens Building Technologies’ customers currently save 10.5 million tons of CO2 per year2. This market success has been recognized through 11 different international awards for energy efficiency. Together with Capgemini, Siemens is now further developing this Navigator platform to help corporate real estate owners drive business results and meet energy efficiency goals, while maximizing the lifecycle potential of their customers’ real estate assets.
Capgemini Consulting, the global strategy and transformation unit of Capgemini, and the Siemens Building Technologies Division together developed the overarching service and implementation strategy for this comprehensive IoT management platform to connect the smart buildings and asset portfolios of large and global customers of Siemens Building Technologies. Based on the strong market-proven3 Navigator function set for monitoring and analysis, Capgemini’s IoT, data analytics, and cloud experts will work in collaboration with teams from Siemens Building Technologies, to extend and drive this complex digital transformation project, in a phased approach.
This combined setup will enable Siemens Building Technologies to expand its leading position in terms of offering energy sustainability services specifically, and data driven services in general to building operators, campus owners and corporate real estate customers. Navigator’s functionality will be continuously enhanced.
“Our customers expect us to provide actionable insight from digitalization and to implement ever more advanced ways of improving building performance,” says Matthias Rebellius, CEO of Siemens Building Technologies. “In this highly competitive environment, Capgemini is a strong partner for Siemens.”
“The Internet of Things is a massive accelerator for digital transformation. Building a consistent strategy and providing an innovative platform for IoT services is an asset that companies can leverage for the benefit of their clients. This cloud based data driven services project will make the widespread benefits of connected buildings a reality for Siemens Building Technologies’ real estate customers, helping them to make more informed business decisions and realize operating efficiencies. Capgemini will support this roll-out from strategy development through to implementation and integration,” said Olivier Sevillia, Member of the Group Management Board and responsible for Digital Services at Capgemini.
