ARROW TEAMS WITH AIRMAKER TO HELP IOT START-UPS
Arrow Electronics is collaborating with AIRmaker, a Singapore-based Internet of Things (IoT) accelerator, to help start-ups transform fresh ideas into sustainable businesses.
As a technology advisor, Arrow will help AIRmaker programme start-ups become more effective and productive in their idea-to-impact product journey.
“We are confident that our collaboration with Arrow will bring value-add to our business framework and processes and we are excited to see the transformation it will bring to our programme participants,” said Kwai Seng Lee, managing director, AIRmaker.
“Arrow provides industry-leading end-to-end IoT capabilities and offerings that help start-ups navigate via the IoT maze and accelerate their design-to-manufacturing journey, which is the exact kind of support IoT start-ups are looking for.”
As part of this collaboration, Arrow will provide AIRmaker’s programme participants online and offline end-to-end technology, critical IoT technology know-how, design-to-manufacturing expertise, and support at overcoming technical challenges.
This includes a complete range of collaborative online e-tools, and one of the world’s largest online databases of reference designs and component information via Arrow’s e-commerce site.
Start-ups will also gain access to Arrow’s professional advice and technical counsel throughout the development cycle from formulation and proof-of-design concept, component sourcing, rapid prototyping, and testing to system integration and pre-manufacturing verification.
“The IoT startup scene is gaining a lot of momentum in the Asia-Pacific region, and Arrow is dedicated to assisting IoT start-ups in removing key barriers and connecting them with the ecosystem players to help guide them along the road to innovation entrepreneurship and social impact,” said Esmond Wong, vice president of supplier marketing, Semiconductor for Arrow’s components business in the Asia-Pacific region.
“AIRmaker leads a vibrant and innovative IoT start-up community, and we are confident that this collaboration can help increase the success rate of their accelerator programme.”
Aerspace, a Singapore-based start-up that specialises in motion analytics, solving patient falls in hospitals and nursing homes with an IoT wearable device, completed AIRmaker’s programme last year.” As a tech start-up, we are constantly under pressure for speed, resources and delivering the best possible quality product,” said Edwin Koh, co-founder, Aerspace.
“Arrow has been a tremendous help with [its] comprehensive technology portfolio and technical know-how, from hardware components selection to wireless connectivity to system integration. [Its] IoT expertise has enabled us to accelerate our product development phase to reach a manufacturing-ready stage.”
