SMART LED VANS TO BOOST SMART CITY MOVEMENT: LMC

In the next trail of the Smart City challenge, Lucknow Municipal Corporation set to create awareness among people about the significance of Smart City Challenge among the citizens. Apart from social media promotions and other outdoor activities, LMC will now launch LED Vans throughout the city on March 29, 30 and 31 2016 the last three days of the campaign to speed up the awareness programme and engage more and more citizens for this campaign.

Additional Municipal Commissioner PK Srivastava said “We are introducing multiple LED vans at various location of the city to spread the awareness of the Smart City Challenge and promote citizen engagement for their suggestions and ideas in preparing the Final Draft of the Lucknow Smart City Proposal (Fast Track Round).” This is the second round of selection for Smart Cities based upon revised proposal and people’s participation.

These LED vans will be flagged on Tuesday from the head-office of LMC at Lalbagh which would cover all the major areas of the city including Kaiserbagh, Charbagh, Rajajipuram, Alambagh, Hazratganj, Vrindavan Yojna, Chowk, Mahanagar, Gomtinagar, Indiranagar, Aliganj, and Janakipuram etc till March end. LMC has announced to submit the revised smart city proposal of Lucknow to the state government by April 6 for approval.

The revised proposal would include suggestions given by the public and tasks undertaken by various local government departments to make Lucknow better. Srivastava added, “After the overwhelming response of online & offline citizen engagements for last 20 days, it would be desirable to inculcate the high spirit of the citizens towards making the mission ‘Art City to Smart City’ a big success.”
